Josh's Creations

This is Josh's version of a Chinese Dragon. He studied Chinese New Year in school.

Sick Week

Everyone seems to be battling the flu bugs around here. Josh only had three boys in his class yesterday because so many of them are out sick! Micah was hit with it last week. He ran 103 degrees for several days. I always feel badly for the kids when they are sick, but it sure is fun to have them rest in your lap for a few hours. We're thankful to be feeling better this week!

Friday the 13th

A young driver plowed through our fence the other day. The first photo shows how far our trash can was thrown (look to the left of the car, in the grass). The trash can was originally sitting in front of the fence. The second picture shows the tiny space the driver's car fit through. He managed to squeeze his car between the metal pole and our neighbor's mailbox. I'm so thankful nobody was hurt.

Happy February!

Forest Home

We ended our trip at Forest Home. Jim was asked to speak at their Winter Camp again this year. It dumped snow on us and made us feel like we were back in Colorado. Before the snow started falling, we took the boys fishing. They each caught a few fish and were grinning from ear to ear despite the rain coming down.

Disneyland

One day of our trip was spent at Disneyland. Our old Fuller neighbor joined us for some of the fun. The highlight of the day was Josh being chosen for Jedi Training. He fought Darth Vader like a true Jedi. The Dark Force didn't stand a chance. It was a moment that will forever be imprinted into Josh's memory and mine.

Surprise!

After a weekend at Hume Lake, we turned our wheels south for a surprise trip to Pasadena. The kids were under the impression that we were just heading home. We made it all the way into Pasadena when Josh exclaimed from the back seat, "That place looks like where I took my art class in Pasadena!" A couple more blocks to our old apartment and he finally realized we were in Pasadena. It was a priceless moment. Here are their expressions...

It was a very sweet time for all of us. We visited with treasured friends and soaked in some of our favorite Pasadena spots.

HUME LAKE

We left town a little over a week ago. Our first stop was Winter Camp at Hume Lake with the middle school kids from church. Jim actually worked at Hume Lake (as the "Food Dude") about 16 years ago. The kids and I loved walking down memory lane with him.
