Dania asked me to take a picture of this dandelion while she was here. I'm telling you, the girl has an eye for photography. Dania, don't you think it turned out cool?

Micah's Legs

I'm not sure if Micah struggles with depth perception (causing him to fall a lot) or if this is just what being a boy is all about. Either way, this is what Micah's legs look like most of the time.

Hiking at Russian Ridge

Dirt, water, sticks and some buddies...makes for a happy Micah. The kids and I went hiking with some boys from Micah's preschool a few weekends ago. They had so much fun. I love watching these little friendships and their interactions with each other. All the kids were great hikers despite the temperature being cold! Maybe it helped that one of the moms gave them all candy at the top.

Point Reyes With Family

The first full day we had with my sister's family we made the trek up to Point Reyes. We were hoping to spot the mama grey whales migrating north with their babies. When we reached the ranger station they said 26 whales had already been spotted that day! However, when we reached the lighthouse we didn't see any! Bummer. But we did see beautiful trees, cows, farms, wildflowers and amazing views. The best part of the day was watching the cousins enjoying each others company. Treasured moments. Thanks for coming Holmbergs! We loved every minute of your trip! So good to be with family. We love you guys.

A Night to Remember

Every once in awhile I am utterly overwhelmed by the blessings in my life. Every once in awhile a moment comes along, that I don't ever want to end. Every once in awhile I turn into a puddle of "happy tears." I just had one of these nights. Jim and the boys surprised me with a date night - prompted by Josh. I was sent to my room and given a chance to read while a flurry of activity was happening in the kitchen. When I was summoned this is what I found:

These were the waiters for the evening. (Cutest waiters I have ever had!)
This was the schedule for the night that Josh and Micah worked from. They kept it in the kitchen and checked off (and starred) each item as they were completed. The boys waited for cues from Jim on when to come in with the next coarse.The flurry of activity in the kitchen was Jim cooking dinner and the boys making cookies -ALL ON THEIR OWN. I have to say, they were the best oatmeal raisin cookies I've ever had. Amazing.

This is the aftermath in the kitchen. (It was such a special night that even the mess was endearing to me.)

Thank you, boys, for an evening I will always remember!

Big Basin

One request from my brother-in-law, Mike, was to visit some big trees during their visit. So Sunday afternoon we headed down to Big Basin. We were all amazed that one of the trees there is over 2000 years old. Oh, to know the history it has seen. It's fun to think that "the cousins" all got to be a part of that history. They had so much fun climbing around and exploring the old forest.

Fitzgerald Marine Preserve

On our last day with my sister's family we ventured toward Half Moon Bay to soak in some time at the ocean. There is always something so wonderfully soothing about the beach. I loved watching how each person interacted and reacted to the seaside.
