La Jolla

Wow! We felt very blessed to spend a couple of nights in La Jolla. Such a treat. I loved these pictures. The first one is Jim and Josh's footprints. Two sets, until Jim picked Josh up and carried him. Reminded me of the Footprints poem. I love that we have a Father who carries us. What a good God. The second picture is of Micah having a quiet moment with the soothing roar of the ocean. I just kept thinking we have a Mighty God.

We're Pirates...

Pirates seem to be a major theme in our lives right now. (Thanks to Veggie Tales). Before we left San Francisco we happened to find out about two old ships that were at Pier 40. It was free to go on board and look around. The boys LOVED it. They were fully convinced they were aboard a pirate ship. Such fun - and so different from what I was into as a little girl! When we got home, Josh made his own pirate costume. I love his creativity. Amazing what fun you can have with paper and tape.

San Francisco

We had a great time in San Francisco! What an amazing day - getting to show my boys around a city that is close to my heart. I have such fond memories visiting my grandparents here. We only had a few hours so we went to Pier 39 to check out the sea lions, drove along the water then through the Presidio and back down Lombard street.

A Pirate's Life For Me

Argh, a pirate's life for me! Me pirates have emerged from three days of sickness. The past few days our boys have mostly been lying on the couch. Today they must be feeling better because they turned our bed into a pirate ship - complete with flag, anchor and treasure chest. Don't mess with these pirates!

A Day at the Beach

Birthday Lunch

Jim and the boys took me to lunch in Malibu for my birthday. We went to a restaurant called Duke's right on the waterfront. It was one of those amazing moments in life. I looked up at Jim while we were eating and noticed we both had 'happy tears' in our eyes. I was overwhelmed by this feeling of how can I be so blessed? There I sat with the most amazing husband and two wonderful boys - looking out at the stunning ocean. God has truly blessed me beyond my imagination. Thank you, Lord. I am so unworthy... yet, you lavish your love on me.
