Surprise!

After a weekend at Hume Lake, we turned our wheels south for a surprise trip to Pasadena. The kids were under the impression that we were just heading home. We made it all the way into Pasadena when Josh exclaimed from the back seat, "That place looks like where I took my art class in Pasadena!" A couple more blocks to our old apartment and he finally realized we were in Pasadena. It was a priceless moment. Here are their expressions...

It was a very sweet time for all of us. We visited with treasured friends and soaked in some of our favorite Pasadena spots.

HUME LAKE

We left town a little over a week ago. Our first stop was Winter Camp at Hume Lake with the middle school kids from church. Jim actually worked at Hume Lake (as the "Food Dude") about 16 years ago. The kids and I loved walking down memory lane with him.

100 Days of Kindergarten

Josh is coming up on his 100th Day of Kindergarten. We had to do a project made up of 100 things. He came up with the idea to use cereal. We used Mighty Bites, which I think look a lot like little school children! Omi, we thought you would enjoy seeing the finished product. You might appreciate that the letters are groups of ten. K-1 is his classroom number.

Two Front Teeth

Josh is officially missing his two front teeth!

Shiner

Well, I guess playing tackle football with your three year old isn't the best idea. This picture was taken moments after Micah took an elbow in the eye. Dad was doing a fancy spin move to get away from Josh and...well, let's just say Jim hasn't stopped apologizing for this one! We were playing on our knees to make it more "safe" but the only thing that accomplished, was lining Micah up for his first shiner.

One of my favorite gifts this Christmas was the handmade calendar Josh made. Happy January!

Cousin Time

When we lived in Colorado Josh and Micah played with their cousins on a regular basis. Now, they live in Idaho and we live in California. So when we flew to visit them the day after Christmas....well, it was just the best present ever.
